Op 19 maart 2014 palmen kunstenaars, fotografen, designers, grafisch ontwerpers, muzikanten, poëten, acteurs en theatermakers de Gentse binnenstad in van 16u tot 22u.
Ook op de campussen van LUCA zullen er werken te zien.

Prélude Pathétique

Op vier december opende in de Leuvense Universiteitsbibliotheek de expo ‘The Prélude Pathétique’. Tijdens de tentoonstelling geven 27 kunstenaars hun visie op het eeuwenoude thema van de transfiguratie. Deze tentoonstelling is de eerste editie van een reeks activiteiten waarmee LUCA School of Arts een platform wil creëren voor haar eigen jonge talent én haar gevestigde waarden; niet enkel Luc Tuymans en Michaël Borremans, maar ook Philippe Van Snick, Dan Van Severen, Herman Asselberghs, David Claerbout en vele anderen krijgen een plaats in deze expo.
De expo loopt nog tot 31/1 en maakt van het bezoeken van de bibliotheek een bijzondere ervaring. Mocht je in de buurt zijn, zeker binnenlopen!

La Boîte à Gand
12 May
Vanaf 24 mei ben je welkom op de tentoonstelling La Boîte à Gand met werk van jonge Vlaamse illustratoren met wie curator Brecht Evens zich verwant voelt. Alle illustratoren komen uit hetzelfde nest: Sint Lucas Beeldende Kunst Gent. De tentoonstelling werd erg gesmaakt door de bezoekers van het internationale stripfestival in Angoulême en kent nu haar Belgische première op de plaats die de illustratoren bindt.

1 Jan2012 was an amazing year, but 2013 will be even more amazing. It will be quite a challenge, but I look forward being able to launch with my colleagues the Faculty of Arts within LUCA – School of Arts and closely related to the Catholic University of Leuven. It is an honour to be the faculty’s first Dean. Therefore I will have to leave my post in Genk, but since the campus will also integrate in LUCA Faculty of Arts we stay linked, and we will still see much of eachother.

It was fun moderating the roundtable on Creative Software at the second edition of HDYD. Great to see what Hans Bonte is doing with Musecore. Inspired by Matt Cottam and his projects for google web lab. Intrigued by the way Mark Florquin and Erik Van Straaten use new technology in their work. Surprised by the beautiful work of Tom Heene and curious to see whether the guys from Dropstuff will succeed with their interactive game project.
Museum Mediation in Transition at Museum M in Leuven
11 NovA whole day of reflection on the future of museum mediation and education in a digital world took place at Museum M in Leuven on the October 10. I was lucky to be able to moderate the inspiring session by Jasper Visser on digital storytelling. Furthermore there were projects by our CMD – students and the research group social spaces exhibited and in the morning I got acquinted with the work DREAM does in Denmark.
